As well as a great range of resources and toys within the setting the Preschool are dedicated to offering your child a range of experiences and opportunities including visitors to the setting and trips out too.
Our aim is to support children to build the foundations they need to make a ‘good start to learning’.
We provide a balance of adult supported and child initiated play along
with free flow opportunities to the outside environment during each session.
The setting demonstrates a child centred approach to planning focusing on
children’s interests and characteristics of learning; this enables children to
extend their own learning through more meaningful play and experiences. The
staff team encourage all children’s independence, offer challenges to promote
children’s resilience and thinking and ensure all children feel valued. In
order to promote children’s self-help skills and independence they are involved
with washing/drying their own cups/plates, washing aprons, brushing up,
cleaning and tidying of their own equipment/activities.
For younger children the main learning focus within the rooms are the three Prime areas of learning within the EYFS which are; Personal, Social and Emotional Development, Communication and Language, and Physical development. The environment enables children to explore a variety of play and sensory experiences with staff carefully ‘scaffolding play’ to enhance and extend their learning. Our staff team staff support younger children to play with others and build friendships, gain independence, support communication skills and be happy confident learners willing to ‘have a go.’
